FAQ
What are the most common algorithms that you suggest in your machine learning consulting and development?
Depending on the problem we might suggest different machine learning such as SVMs, Bayesian Networks or custom-built neural networks to solve the most complex tasks.
Will machine learning solve my problem? What characteristics should the project have for machine learning to help?
If you process a lot of data that is hard to handle with excel sheets, consider machine learning.
What technology stack would support machine learning best in your opinion?
When thinking of machine learning, Hadoop-based stacks are most common. These include HDFS, Spark, Presto, and Kafka.
What popular analytics tools do you offer for big data analysis?
We offer several of the most common analytics based on big data:
- Prescriptive – reveals what actions to take.
- Predictive – Identifies likely scenarios.
- Diagnostic – Finds results.
- Descriptive – Tells us what’s happening now based on incoming data, ‘real-time’ dashboard/data feed.
How much data can you easily process and analyze? Are there any restrictions here?
Since we use the cloud, we can easily scale and analyze terabytes of data. However, certain queries for large data sets might take a while. But there is no specific restriction as far as the data volume is concerned.
Where do you store client data to ensure easy access with no processing delays?
We store data in HDFS clusters hosted on AWS infrastructure. Due to multiple availability zones and high availability configuration, the data is always accessible even in case of partial downtime of an AWS region.
Which interactive visualizations tools do you suggest for big data analysis?
Tools which we have worked with and we can easily recommend include Tableau and AWS QuickSight. We also offer custom-built solutions tailored to client needs.
What security methods do you have in place to protect such a big volume of data?
We are well aware of the fact that handling big sets of data must not only be easily accessible but also well protected. Therefore a data cluster stored in the cloud is fully encrypted and is located in a private network without direct external access. Direct cluster access is only possible via a VPN.
What is the most challenging about implementing big data processing in our company?
In order to succeed in big data implementation the data volume has to be big enough, so its processing will bring value and answers for asked questions. Building machine learning solutions requires time and resources but such an investment will help save time and money in future.
