The Client

IWPD Management GmbH is actively involved in music, arts, artist management, and software development. The company’s purpose is management, mediation, performance and implementation, and marketing of cultural events and artists of all kinds. Our client wanted to make their idea come true – an online platform prepared exclusively for art education. The place for art lovers from all over the world – teachers, students, and artists – can share their knowledge and experience, make contacts, and what is the most important, take and give real-time online lessons.

Challenge

The project’s fundamental assumptions were: best audio/video quality, user-friendly interface, easy-to-use, and safe payment system. The existing resources included product backlog, the first, incomplete version of the code, and modern design. Our tasks were to create a back-end and front-end layer of the platform, fix existing problems with old code, prepare a scalable architecture, and run the server implementation and administration.

Our solutions

Considering all the Client’s requirements and vision of further, worldwide development of this platform, we decided to use the most flexible and scalable tools and technologies, such as AngularJS, Redis, HTML5, or MariaDB. The key requirement was to provide the best possible quality audio/video connection that allows users to make it suitable for their Internet connection, equipment, and type of lesson in which they participate. We solved that by using the WebRTC protocol, highly customized by our developers. Another important task was to make this platform safe and as a user is friendly as possible. Let’s remember it is made for art passionates, who are not necessarily technology enthusiasts, so it had to be intuitive and easy-to-use for everyone.
