WCAG is becoming a big deal in the European Union
Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, or WCAG set design standards that create a more inclusive environment on the web, so you donât alienate your end-users, or even harm their health.
The European Accessibility Act is a non-discrimination law that applies to public and some of the private businesses, and aims to reduce the barriers that people with disabilities might face when accessing digital content, product, and services.
The law has to be adopted by the EU countries by June 2022 and enforced by July 2025. Also, an institution erected by the EU will impose a fine for public and private entities that will not adapt WCAG regulations by 2025.
